After-School Education & Safety Program (ASES)

Our goal is provide a high-quality after-school program that merges literacy, academic enrichment, and fun after-school alternatives for students in the Chualar community.

What is the After-School Education & Safety Program?
The ASES program provides an opportunity to merge school reform strategies with community resources. The goal is to support local efforts to improve assistance to students and broaden the base of support for education in a safe, constructive environment. It is the intent of ASES program legislation to encourage schools and school districts to provide safe and educationally enriching alternatives for children and youth during non-school hours. The program creates incentives for establishing locally driven before and after school education and enrichment programs.

The ASES program involves collaboration among parents, youth, representatives from schools and governmental agencies, such as local law enforcement and local parks and recreation departments, and individuals from community-based organizations and the private sector. Programs are created through partnerships between schools and local community resources to provide literacy, academic enrichment, and safe, constructive alternatives for students in grades K-8.

Folklórico!

Danza Folklórica, also known as Ballet Folklorico, is a beautiful Mexican dance that reflects heritage and tradition. There are many types of dances from different states throughout Mexico that highlight the culture of that region through unique costumes and music. The folklore, costumes, colors, steps and many other elements represent  Mexican culture.

Enrichment Hour!

After school staff have the power to make daily physical activity accessible and engaging for every student and to help all youths in after school programs discover the many benefits and joys of physical activity. The intent of the California After School Physical Activity (CASPA) Guidelines is to create high-quality physical activity programs that expand learning opportunities of the regular school day.

My goal is to provide an after-school program that is a safe and inclusive environment for all our students. We are constantly working to provide enriching activities such as music and dance, manage the students time constructively with homework help, physical activities, and engaging lessons.
